Leominster Priory

I’m a huge fan of the Cadfael novels of Ellis Peters. Perhaps that’s why, even though this is Leominster and not Shrewsbury, I still sense the monastic past of this once Benedictine priory building, and just out of view, in the periphery of my vision, I’m sure there’s a cowled monk or two…


Leominster Priory - massive round arched pillars. A ducking stool (yes, honestly!) and simply wonderful stone carvings at the West door - inside and outside…including a green man.
